MIAMI COLOCATION DATA CENTER
MIA1 – Miami Data Center for Dedicated Servers
Home / Data Center Facilities / MIA1 Miami Data Center
MIA1: Primary exchange point for high levels of traffic between the U.S. and Latin American markets.
Volico’s Miami data center, MIA1, is purpose-built to house dedicated servers, so redundancy comes first. Our network self-heals around failures fast, since interruptions to connectivity aren’t an option for clients who demand a first-class facility. This Miami data center delivers reliability, security, and high-quality network performance in one place.
Located in the heart of downtown Miami, MIA1 shares the dual power grid used by local hospitals. That same grid also serves federal and state courthouses. In fact, Miami ranks as one of the five most connected cities in the world. Its telecommunications infrastructure further enhances our data center’s services, including multiple fiber loops, carrier facilities, and international cable landings. Volico gives your company access to the preeminent communications gateway to Latin America. Our MIA1 data center is the primary location for all hosted server services provided to Volico’s clients as well as cost-effective colocation.
- In addition, security personnel is on-site 24/7/365.
- Guards require valid photo ID before any individual may enter the building.
Facility Access & Security at a Glance
- Volico requires a key card to use the building’s elevators and access the data center floor.
- Volico also requires an additional key card and a biometric hand scan to access colocation space.
Finding the right IT solution can be a daunting task for any business. In addition, in-house solutions are often inadequate and quickly become expensive. Space limitations, the cost of building a data center from the ground up, and the hassle of retrofitting all point to one conclusion. Colocation gives businesses benefits no other alternative can match.
We provide the space, power, cooling, and physical security for your equipment, so you connect to a network with minimum cost and complexity. We’ve already invested in a secure, redundant, state-of-the-art facility, so you can put it straight to work.

Physical and Environmental Security
Overview
Security personnel staff our MIA1 data center 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, so they control access to the building at all times. While a biometric hand scan controls access to the data center itself, locks secure all cabinets on both sides.
Additional measures to ensure secure, high-performance operation:
CCTV digital cameras record all activity 24/7/365. Because of that, our CCTV camera network fully integrates into the alarm system. That combination helps the building’s physical structure exceed all local codes and standards, with added security measures. As a result, we archive all footage for future retrieval.
TotalPac Fire Suppression System. This fire suppression system is dual-alarmed, dual interlock, multi-zoned, pre-zoned, and pre-action, with a dry pipe design that’s state-of-the-art. It’s also built with the latest electrical and mechanical technologies. Clients get N+1 redundancy, aligned with data center tier standards for fault-tolerant design, so operation stays continuous. Branch breaker monitoring and dual power grid service back that up.
24/7/365 management and monitoring of environmental systems. Our 14′ high ceilings in a raised floor environment keep your equipment cooled under N+1 redundancy. Because of that setup, airflow stays optimal at a constant 72ºF temperature and 40-60% humidity. We design power systems for maximum effectiveness, capable of delivering 120V, 208V, 480V AC, and -48V DC to match each client’s unique needs.
